The sun rises in the East.  This is symbolic of birth and all new beginnings…renewals, springtime.  The rising sun illuminates and enlightens us to the purpose of our existence, it opens the spiritual eye giving us discernment.  Animal totems here can help us discover our greatest spiritual challenges and strengths, answering the questions: What does spirituality mean to me?
