I don't look at birds or people the same way, since you offered a way in which I may reframe my perspective. Thank you for helping me to approach modeling with the consciousness of a Healing Artist. Although the opportunity to model has not presented itself, allow me to share with you what has occurred since we met. T'was the night before graduation from Institute of Integrative Nutrition, that I had the pleasure of participating in a "Journey Dance" class, led by my collegue from the Institute. The Journey is toward amplifying our Goddess energy by releasing the anxious fearful parts of ourselves. I benefitted greatly from this experience. On July 25th, I graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, and I am now a Certified Health Coach. On August 1st, I was offered an opportunity to read for parts in a play. The playwright is the choir director at my church. On August 2nd, my next door neighbor invited me over for a glass of wine for the first time, since I moved in 5 years ago. I shared with her what I had been up to and she is interested in becoming my client. I also shared with her my intention to hold healing circles in my home. She felt that many would benefit and she went on to say how neighbors had become estranged since their children grew up. On August 3rd, I flew to New Mexico to visit my Godmother, Miriam. On August 4th my Godmother and I visitied the Santa Domingo Pueblo for a dance and feast. There were many vendors, one of which was a Drum Maker from the Cochiti Pueblo. I expressed and interest in a drum, initially as a base for my coffee table, then I realized that it would be better suited for the center of my healing circle. Forming a circle has been my intention for some time. On August 6th, we visited the home of Paul Herrera, Jr. the drum maker to purchase the drum. We learned that his grandfather Jose Francisco Herrera began the tradition and his drums are found all over the world. Paul shared that the purpose for which the drums were made was for HEALING! Paul and his Dad were gratified to learn that my plans for the drum were in perfect alignment with their healing intention.... Now I have my very own drum. I am IN JOY! I shared your you tube presentation with my Godmother last night....After dinner I wanted to reconnect with you....I read your account of the circle of 6 you formed with women ranging in age from 27-77 around the question, What makes you a good person? Sometimes I give her an "inventory" of what hurts, then she touches another place and I realize I had not told her about that ache or strain, but she zooms in on it with a laser-guided intuition. Mikka continues to evolve and shares her new knowledge with me as she explores new aspects of life and healing. I would recommend her to anyone who seriously wants to address their body/spirit and is willing to enter a native bodywork sanctuary guided by Mikka's skills and expertise.
